A diversion or amusement: The solving of a crossword puzzle is entertainment for many people.
Entertainment often hits on themes that our brains were evolved to deeply react to, wich gives us the feeling of good entertainment, since it stimulates seratonin and dopamine.
Entertainment varies in intensity from an individual enjoying pre-recorded entertainment on his or her own to a banquet adapted for two, to the organization of a social event for hundreds or thousands of guests, and to the staging of a performance by professional entertainers. Some activities, such as hunting or war, have evolved into spectator sports and even global competitions. Similarly, some events that were once commonplace (public executions, for example) are now illegal. Entertainment also includes ceremonies, celebrations, religious festivals, and satire.
