Entertaiment

Article

A pleasant diversion or amusement; agreeable occupation for the mind or senses: A witty or picaresque novel is an entertainment.

Entertaiment is a vast field of human activity, ranging from the private amusements of one individual to a banquet adapted for two, from the activities of children to performances intended for thousands and even for a global audience. It can involve sedentary engagement, such as with television or tablet computers, or it can encourage physical activity. It can even be used to help achieve insight or intellectual growth – see Scheherazade, the story in the Persian professional storytelling tradition of a woman who entertains herself by telling stories.
