Poker is a game of chance played with cards. It can be played with two or more players, and there are various rules to the game. The best games are usually played with five or six players.
Betting in Poker is an important part of the game. At the beginning of each round, each player buys in for a fixed amount of chips called an ante. Once the dealer deals the cards, players will see their hand and decide whether or not to bet.
The flop, turn and river are the first three cards dealt in a hand of Poker. The player with the best hand at each of these three cards wins the pot, which is equal to the ante for that player plus all bets made.
High Card and Pairs
In Poker, a high card is the highest possible single card that can be used to make a combination. The two most common combinations are a high pair and a straight.
A straight is a set of five consecutive cards, regardless of suit. When two or more players have straights, the one with the highest ranking card wins.
Folding in Poker
In poker, folding means to stop playing and put all of your chips on the table. This is a good move only when you think your hand is too weak to compete against the other players.
