What Is Technology?

Technology is the use of science and knowledge to improve living conditions. This includes industrial, domestic and social activities.

In the broader sense, any tool or process that facilitates communication between people and enables them to perform tasks more easily, efficiently and accurately is considered to be technology. The term can also refer to the process of constructing or designing buildings, canals and inland waterways, dams, harbours and sea works, mines and tunnels, railways and roads.

The word is derived from two Greek words: techne, meaning skill, craft or the way or manner of gaining something and logos, the utterance or expression of inward thought or intention. Its significance lies in the fact that technology allows human beings to manipulate their environment and to bring about changes in it.

Education technology refers to the tools and systems that improve educational processes for students and teachers. This includes computer software designed to make learning a new subject easier for students with limited experience and online learning platforms offering a variety of materials to enliven difficult subjects. It may also include student whiteboards that connect classrooms to the world and allow for a wide range of collaboration.

Similarly, business technology is the use of computer software and other systems to manage business processes. This can help businesses increase their output with less labor. It can also be used to analyze data and make crucial decisions for the company. It also helps reduce errors from manual operations.
